PRIVILEGE LEAVE

1 month for every 11 months service ( 1 day for every 11 days service). For calculating privilege leave, casual leave and mandatory leave will not be excluded.

Privilege Leave can be availed upto 4 times in a calendar year.

Where however, the reasons for the request by an employee for leave on more than four occasions in a year are adequate and genuine and it is not administratively inconvenient, such leave may be granted.

Privilege Leave can be applied upto not less than 10 days before the proposed date of commencement of such leave. Advance notice of 10 days for availing privilege leave will be waived for office bearers and Executive Committee members of a registered trade union.

Privilege Leave shall be allowed to be accumulated up to a maximum of 270 days. But encashment would be allowed upto 255 days at the time of retirement.

In case of employees of the age of 58 years and above, if wife or husband falls sick and hospitalized in another centre than the place of work, he/she need not avail privilege leave and they will be granted sick leave (maximum of 30 days in a calendar year). This will help the employee to conserve his/her privilege leave which can be encashed at the time of retirement.
