SIGNIFICANCE OF 53RD BANK NATIONALISATION ANNIVERSARY

For 52 years since 1969, Bank employees, holding the banner of AIBEA , have been celebrating the Anniversary of Bank Nationalisation with great joy on 19th July.
But this time when we celebrate on 19th July,(today) we are surcharged with anger. We see in the sky, the dark clouds gathering, in the Horizon, spelling the doom of denationalisation of our Industry, by the very rulers to whom we, the people gave the power to rule.
The people who are the owners of Nationalised Banks, are realising that the very people to whom they voted, are dismantling the very edifice, that gave prosperity to them, liberated them from the usurious private money lenders, ensured millions of small businessmen and street vendors a better life and gave job opportunities to lacs of unemployed.
It is thus, a peoples issue and task to fight against the proposed moves by the Government to denationalise our Banks. AIBEA comrades, should go to the people, to the beneficiaries of Bank Nationalisation and educate them. We should make our struggle a Mass Movement. We should organise a Massive March of the masses, demanding that the Government should give up their plans to privatise Public Sector Banks.
We can do it. Denationalisation of Banks will have devastating effect on the sovereign economic status of our Nation. Our battle is almost a Second Liberation Struggle. That is why the ordinary people at large, should be mobilised.
On this day, let us pledge, to make our campaign, “A People’s mighty movement of Protest”.
We shall succeed and push back the most anti-people measure, now being planned and proposed to be pushed through in the current Parliament Session.
Organise, Educate and mobilise the ordinary people.
