Our Units and members are aware that all the employees, officers and all the Unions in Bank of Maharashtra are on an agitation against the naked anti-union, anti-employee policy of the management. They observed one day strike in all the Branches in Maharashtra on 16-1-2023 and all over the country on 27-1-2023. In the conciliation meetings, the management remained adamant and adopted a totally negative anti-union and anti- employees attitude. hence the strike was forced on the unions, even though unions were prepared to resolve the issues amicably thr0ough discussions.
The management is not respecting Trade Unions Act and Industrial Disputes Act as well provisions of Bipartite Settlement. Even the advisory of the Finance Ministry to strictly adhere to these laws have fallen on deaf years. Management continues to be belligerent and aggressive. They refused to negotiate with elected representatives of the Unions which is violation of TU Act, 1926. They have forcibly evicted our Unions from the premises of the Bank which were allotted to the Unions and the Unions have been functioning in these premises for the past more than 30 years.
Hence, the Unions are left with no other alternative than to proceed with the call for All India strike on 9th and 10th February, 2023.
We request all our State Federations and Unions to contact the State/Branch units of Bank of Maharashtra in all the centres and extend all-out help and support to their struggle.
If the management does not relent from their aggressive and adamant stand and continue their attacks on the employees and officers, then AIBEA will have to consider giving an All India Solidarity Strike in all the Banks all over the country.
With Greetings
Yours Comradely,
C.H. VENKATACHALAM GENERAL SECRETARY
